More about this list

Alcorcón, a commuter town south-west of the capital, has more entries in this guide than any other town outside it. Club Ajedrez Diagonal Alcorcón is based at the Centro Cultural Buero Vallejo, where it holds weekly Friday encounters and teaches children and adults; its Slowblitz series brings a blitz tournament about once a month, with a children's edition alongside.

The rest is tournament chess in unexpected rooms: the Panda Games shop in the X-Madrid centre has hosted a tournament organised by a chess school, the Tres Aguas shopping centre has been the venue of children's and school tournaments, and the Colegio Andel has held tournaments on its own premises. Those three are known from calendar entries only, with one edition a year at most, so read the dates on their cards before counting on a next one.
